Astride is Mom to Vivi, friend of the brand and lives in LA. Lawyer by trade and tastemaker for life, we have been friends for more than a decade. Always keeping me informed of new trends in culinary arts, insider style tips, and giving me all the low down on life from Beverly Hills to Hollywood, Astride is one of those rare breed of cultural alchemists. I have been to Croatia in September before, for Astride’s wedding, and it was hot! So if you are planning to go now in September, be prepared for full on summer for the start of Autumn. On her recent trip to Croatia Astride sent us a few postcards to keep us up to date on the latest must-see and do places of note.
“Hi Alex, Found myself off the beach path with an amazing experience at a restaurant that is best reached by boat in Ston. About 45 min from Dubrovnik, Gastro Mare is a gem. With only four tables (don’t worry, there’s 11 moors) chez Toni serves dealer’s choice of local catenes (local local like caught from his own net) and Croatian classics with culinary precision, you’re surprised to find you’re in the middle of nowhere. Enjoy the view from the dock of the yachts and boats passing by with a 3 hour meal only a Dalmatian summer can serve. Until next time! Xox A”

FIND
Finding your way to Dubrovnik is easy from most European countries. You can also combine the trip with a visit to neighboring new hot-spot Montenegro.
WEAR
Anywhere you need to travel to by boat in the Mediterranean calls for something casual but chic. Try the Suncrest dress for your dockside close-up.
STAY
The Villa Dubrovnik is the place to stay! Slightly out of town set on the cliffs overlooking the incredible water, this hotel is luxe but not over-wrought with fussy details. The sleek design of the hotel and friendly staff are just right, and the breakfast on the terrace is worth waking up for no matter how late you stay out.
